The world’s top airlines for 2022 have been announced by AirlineRatings.com, the only website that rates airline safety, products, and COVID-19 measures. Qatar Airways came out on top as the airline of the year.
Based in Doha, Qatar Airways beat out competitors like Air New Zealand, Etihad Airways, and Korean Air to secure the number one spot. Following them are Singapore Airlines, Qantas, and Virgin Australia.
AirlineRatings.com also unveiled its Airline Excellence Awards and listed the Top Twenty Airlines in the World for 2022. Qatar Airways received high praise for its innovation and leadership in the industry, as well as its dedication to maintaining critical long-haul routes during the COVID-19 pandemic over the past 30 months. This commitment has resulted in record profits for the airline, even though it faced financial challenges due to flight restrictions.
Qatar Airways topped the rankings thanks to its innovative cabins, excellent passenger service, and unwavering operation throughout the pandemic.
Air New Zealand, which secured the second position, is frequently recognized for its continuous innovation and leadership in the airline industry.
Etihad Airways took third place and was also awarded the inaugural Best Environmental Airlines Award for its leadership in the 787 Greenline program.
Korean Air came in fourth, followed by Singapore Airlines and Qantas. Singapore Airlines also won awards for having the Best First Class and Best Lounges.
Virgin Australia ranked seventh and was honored for having the Best Cabin Crew. Taiwan’s EVA made it to the eighth spot, with Turkish Airlines in ninth, also being named the Best Airline in Europe. Japan’s All Nippon Airlines rounded out the top ten.
The top ten low-cost carriers (LCCs) for 2022, listed alphabetically, are Allegiant Air, AirAsia, EasyJet, Jetstar, Flair, Fly Dubai, Ryanair, Scoot, Southwest, and VietJet Air.
