Ryanair announced in September 2017 a new baggage policy that was initially set to start on November 1, 2017. However, today (October 24), Ryanair confirmed that the implementation of this new cabin bag policy will be delayed until January 15, 2018.
The Irish airline decided to push back the date to give customers more time to get used to the changes, especially during the busy Christmas season. Under this new policy, checked bag fees will be reduced from €35 to €25 to encourage customers to check in more bags and decrease the number of carry-on bags.
Starting January 15, 2018:
– Only customers with Priority Boarding (including Plus, Flexi Plus, and Family Plus) will be allowed to bring two carry-on bags onto the plane.
– All other customers (non-priority) will be allowed only one smaller carry-on bag on board, and their second, larger wheelie bag will be placed in the hold free of charge at the boarding gate.
