Jacob Laukaitis grew up in Eastern Europe, but he had never visited any of the Balkan countries. After returning from an eight-month trip around Asia, he decided to buy a motorbike and set off to explore the Balkans all by himself. He covered 8,000 kilometers and rode through 15 countries.
He rode through these countries by motorcycle:
Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, and back to Lithuania.
Jacob didn’t plan his route ahead of time and didn’t carry a map. Instead, he decided each morning where he would go next after spending the night at a hotel.
Jacob particularly enjoyed riding along the Croatian coast, traversing Europe’s best mountain passes like Transfagarasan and Transalpina in Romania, exploring the historic town of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and visiting the UNESCO heritage site Meteora in Greece.
He’s truly excited about his journey!
