Norwegian Air Seeks Approval to Launch Routes to Canada!

Norwegian Air has plans to start flying to Canada this summer, according to a recent ruling by the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA). This decision allows Norwegian to begin selling tickets for flights to and from Canada before they have received all the necessary approvals from the Canadian government.

The airline has applied for an international license to operate flights between European Community member states and Canada. They plan to start these commercial flights on July 23. However, because their application is still incomplete, Norwegian needed an exemption from a CTA rule (Section 59) that requires all approvals to be finalized before ticket sales can begin. Norwegian requested this exemption to launch their new low-cost, long-haul flights from Europe to North America.

Transport Canada has indicated that Norwegian will receive the necessary approvals in time for their planned start date, which led to the CTA approving Norwegian’s request to start selling tickets now. We’re excited about the possibility of affordable flights from Europe to Canada with Norwegian!
