By the end of this year, passengers on Singapore Airlines’ newest plane, the Airbus A350-900ULR, will be able to embark on a record-breaking, long-distance flight that reconnects the major cities of New York and Singapore.
This new route will take about 19 hours to travel between New York and Singapore. Currently, the airline’s flights from Singapore to New York include a stopover in either Frankfurt or London.
The new Airbus 350-900ULR aircraft will serve both routes and are expected to come with two classes: business and premium economy seats. Singapore Airlines has ordered seven of these ULR aircrafts.
The Airbus A350-900ULR is designed to fly up to 11,160 miles (approximately 18,000 kilometers), which is an increase of over 1,800 miles compared to the standard A-350.
