Ryanair has announced that it has cancelled its planned entry into Ukraine. This decision follows Kiev airport’s failure to honor a growth agreement made earlier this year with the Ministry of Infrastructure, airport officials, and the Airport Director General, Mr. Riabikin.
Ryanair claims that Kiev airport chose to protect high-fare airlines, including Ukraine’s national airline, Ukraine International Airlines. Due to this, Ryanair decided to cancel all four new routes to Kiev and all seven new routes to Lviv.
Customers who have booked flights to or from Ukraine with Ryanair will be contacted via email and will receive refunds for their canceled flights. This decision was made because Ryanair could not reach an agreement with Kiev airport, and as a result, Lviv Airport was also affected.
Ryanair will now allocate this capacity to other routes, including destinations in Germany, Israel, and Poland.
