EasyJet has introduced a new checked-in luggage category with a weight limit of 15 kg. They have also increased the standard bag weight from 20 kg to 23 kg.
These new options mean that travelers going on short trips no longer have to cram everything into a small cabin bag. For those on longer vacations, there is added peace of mind since the standard hold bag allowance has been increased by an additional 3 kg.
In the past year, nearly half of EasyJet passengers’ checked bags weighed 15 kg or less, and many customers needed more than the previously allowed 20 kg. The new luggage options are designed to better meet these needs. EasyJet aims to provide cost-effective choices for all travelers, no matter the trip length or type.
The 15 kg and 23 kg luggage options are available exclusively online. Prices start at £8.99 for 15 kg and £13.99 for 23 kg.
As before, passengers can combine their total weight allowance if they are traveling with family or friends on the same flight and booking. Those who have already purchased a 20 kg allowance for future flights will keep that allowance. They can still add weight to their bags up to 32 kg as per the previous policy. The new weight allowances apply only to bookings made after November 15, 2017.
