Because of tomorrow’s strike, Lufthansa will need to cancel 800 out of its 1,600 scheduled flights, including 58 long-haul flights, impacting around 90,000 passengers. The airline stated that services would return to normal on Wednesday after the strike, which will involve ground crew and airport firefighters stopping work from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm local time.
Frankfurt airport, Germany’s largest, warned travelers about significant delays and cancellations affecting many airlines. They advised passengers to check with their airline to see if their flight was still scheduled. Even those with flights that were not canceled should plan to arrive at the airport earlier than usual due to expected longer queues.
The strike, described as a “warning strike,” will also affect Munich, Cologne, and Bremen airports. Additionally, it will impact local transport, kindergartens, rubbish collection, and hospitals in several states, including Berlin, Bavaria, and North Rhine-Westphalia.
