Ryanair has exciting news! Not only will they start selling long-haul flights to America on their website, but they’ve also announced a new partnership with the International Exchange Erasmus Student Network (ESN).
The Erasmus program, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, gives university students across Europe the chance to study in a different European city for a year. This program encourages cultural and academic exchanges while boosting language skills in 37 countries. Right now, over 4,000 higher education institutions in these countries are participating in the Erasmus program. Since it started in 1987, more than 3 million students have taken part, with 270,000 participating in the 2012-2013 academic year alone. The most popular destinations for these students are Spain, Germany, and France, and by 2012, Erasmus students made up 5 percent of European graduates.
As part of the fourth year of Ryanair’s “Always Getting Better” program, this partnership with Erasmus will provide student members with special benefits.
