Starting October 26, new security screening procedures will be required for all incoming flights to the United States. This includes American citizens and foreign travelers who may face security interviews by airline staff before takeoff.
These security measures will affect everyone traveling to the United States from international locations. This means that all flights departing from international airports to the United States will be subject to these new rules.
Airlines have indicated that these measures could involve brief security interviews at check-in or at the boarding gate. This has raised concerns that the new procedures might cause flight delays and longer processing times.
The new rules will impact around 325,000 airline passengers each day across approximately 2,000 commercial flights to the United States. These flights are operated by 180 airlines from 280 airports in 105 different countries.
