WizzAir has just been honored with the highest safety rating of 7 stars from AirlineRatings.com, the only safety and product rating agency in the world.
Through a thorough evaluation and feedback process from the airline and the aviation industry, AirlineRatings.com has upgraded its safety rating system, placing more emphasis on IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit). This update has elevated Wizz Air to the top 7-star ranking.
Geoffrey Thomas, the Editor-in-Chief of AirlineRatings.com, praised Wizz Air for its accomplishment. Wizz Air has been integral to Hungary’s economy since its inception in 2003. The airline boasts a large fleet of Airbus aircraft and is operationally among the best. As a low-cost airline, Wizz Air flies to 141 destinations with a fleet of 104 aircraft, making it a significant player in Europe. Additionally, it has orders for 265 more Airbus aircraft.
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) promotes the safe and orderly development of international civil aviation worldwide, setting the necessary standards and regulations for aviation safety, security, efficiency, regularity, and environmental protection. It uses eight audit parameters for safety: Legislation, Organization, Licensing, Operations, Airworthiness, Accident Investigation, Air Navigation Service, and Aerodromes.
For comparison, Ryanair received a 4-star rating, while Easyjet earned a 5-star safety rating from the agency.
