Comprehensive Analysis of FlyDubai: The Budget Airline of The Emirates Group!

We recently flew with FlyDubai on one of their newest routes, traveling from Krakow to Dubai and back. FlyDubai operates the latest Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on this route. Here’s how our experience went.

Check-in:
We used the airline’s mobile app to check in, which was straightforward and hassle-free. It’s worth noting that while you can check in at the airport for free, the mobile app is a convenient alternative. One thing to be aware of is that you might be asked to show the debit or credit card you used to pay for your reservation, although no one asked us for it. Just in case, don’t forget to bring your card with you.

Flight:
The flight from Krakow to Dubai takes about six hours. The aircraft was brand new, so everything was in working order with no issues. Each seat had a USB power outlet built into the screen. However, remember that this is a low-cost airline, so the seat is essentially all that is included in the ticket price. While there is an entertainment system on board, you need to pay for the content.

During the flight, no complimentary drinks or snacks are provided. If you want something to eat or drink, you’ll need to purchase it. Hot meals must be preordered at least 24 hours before your flight; you can’t buy them on board. So, if you plan to travel with FlyDubai, make sure to bring your own food or budget for onboard purchases.

We noticed many passengers with Emirates tickets on our FlyDubai flight. They received a complimentary meal and a bottle of drink (just once for the entire six-hour journey), but even they had to pay for the inflight entertainment.

A quick heads-up: FlyDubai operates out of Dubai Terminal 2, which is not connected to Terminals 1-3. If you need to transfer to another airline, make sure to allow enough time to change terminals. The only way to get between terminals is by taxi unless you book your flight with Emirates, in which case you might get a free terminal shuttle, but we’re not certain about that.
