The Road Trip Project is an initiative by the EU’s Regional and Urban Policy department of the European Commission. The EU Regional Policy aims to support all regions and cities in the European Union, helping to boost economic growth and improve people’s quality of life. This initiative also represents solidarity, directing aid to less developed regions.
This European travel experience will take eight individuals on four different routes across the continent between Spring and Summer 2018. Four pairs will set off on a European road trip in a minibus. During their journey, they will meet locals, absorb the local culture, discover impactful projects, and explore unknown places and stunning landscapes.
These journeys will cover vast areas of the continent, from the Baltics to the westernmost point of Europe, down the Danube River, around the Mediterranean, and along the Atlantic coast.
The Road Trip travelers will document and share their discoveries. They will film and post stories to reach millennials across Europe and beyond.
At the end of each journey, their experiences will be compiled into a road movie and included in an online travel guide showcasing Europe’s lesser-known paths.
The Road Trip Project is searching for curious and open-minded individuals who are passionate about travel and exploration.
The Road Trip Project spans approximately 12,000 kilometers over four main routes across Europe. All travel expenses, communication equipment, accommodation, and meals are covered by the project.
