Ryanair FREE Flights?! WHEN?
Michael O’Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, hopes that in about ten years, Ryanair flights could be completely free. The idea is for the airline to make money from sharing revenues with airports instead. On Monday, he mentioned plans to reduce fares even further to attract more passengers.
O’Leary believes that the future challenge is to keep lowering airfares. His vision is that within the next five to ten years, Ryanair flights will cost nothing. He thinks this will fill the flights, with the airline making its profit from a share of airport revenues, including shopping and retail earnings from passengers passing through airports.
Ryanair has been expanding its fleet, increasing its annual passenger numbers by over 65% in the past eight years. In 2016, Ryanair aimed to carry 119 million people and planned to boost this figure to 200 million by 2024.
